KU Tied For Eighth At Courtyard By Marriot Intercollegiate
April 8, 2005
HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. - The University of Kansas men's golf team is tied for eighth place after one round of the Courtyard by Marriot Intercollegiate at Devils Ridge G.C. in Holly Springs, N.C. The Jayhawks shot an opening round of 287 and were in the middle of the second round when it was called due to rain. Due to likely weather problems, the final round has been canceled and the teams will finish the second round beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday. "We played okay today," head coach Ross Randall said. "We were a little sloppy with our play and could have played better. It's just too bad that we have another round canceled due to weather." Georgia Southern was in first place after the first round with a 273, followed by Wake Forest which shot a 279. Junior Pete Krsnich leads the Jayhawks after firing a first round 71 for a tie for 22nd. Senior Kevin Ward, junior Luke Trammell and sophomore Gary Woodland each carded a 72 to tie for 29th. Sophomore Tyler Docking shot a 73 to tie for 45th. For live updates on the tournament, visit www.golfstat.com. Team Results Place School Score
