Men's Golf Moves Into 7th at The Nelson Invitational

PALO ALTO, Calif. - The Kansas men's golf team is in seventh place, in a 16-team field, after two rounds of the Nelson Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. Kansas shot a second round 278 for a two-day total of 565 at the par-69 Stanford Golf Club. "We shot a little bit better today," head coach Ross Randall said. "We still aren't firing on all cylinders but hopefully we will get hot tomorrow and shoot a low score." New Mexico moved into the lead after shooting a 269 for a 546 total. Sophomore Tyler Docking leads the Jayhawks after firing a second round of 69 and is currently tied for sixth with a 137. Sophomore Barrett Martens shot a 71 to tie for 33rd with a 143. Sophomore Gary Woodland shot a 69 and is currently tied for 39th with a 144. Senior Kevin Ward also shot a 69 and is tied for 47th with a 145. Senior Andrew Price is tied for 69th after carding a 77 for a two-round total of 149.
