Jayhawks Look to Rebound at River Landing Intercollegiate
April 8, 2009
WALLACE, N.C. - The Kansas men’s golf team will look to rebound from its 16th place finish at the Western Intercollegiate when it travels to compete in the River Landing Intercollegiate at River Landing Country Club (par-72, 6,942 yards) April 10-11. Head coach Kit Grove will look to his veterans, including three seniors, to get the Jayhawks back on track. “This should be a good tournament with a lot of good teams,” said Grove. “River Landing is an older, traditional course that should be a good test for us.” Senior Walt Koelbel and freshman Ian Anson will continue their streak of competing in all nine tournaments during the 2008-09 season. They will be joined by seniors Andrew Storm and Zach Pederson, along with junior Bryan Hackenberg. Storm led the Jayhawks at the Western Intercollegiate tied for 15th place finish. The 15-team field, hosted by North Carolina State, will play 36 holes on Friday, April 10 and the final round will be played on April 11. Seven of the fifteen teams in the field hail from the Atlantic Coast Conference. Live scoring can be tracked at golfstat.com for both days of the River Landing Intercollegiate.
