KU's Barbee Named To PING All-Region Golf Team

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas golfer Nate Barbee was named to the PING All-Region team it was announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America Wednesday. A total of 153 players from six different regions were named to the teams. Barbee was one of 25 selected to the Central Region squad.
Barbee, a junior from Dakota Dunes, S.D., had an outstanding season, leading the Jayhawks in scoring average at 72.12. He posted eight top-five finishes in 11 events, including earning medalist honors at the Kansas Invitational held at Alvamar Golf Club.
Barbee capped the season by qualifying for the NCAA Regionals as an individual. He traveled to San Diego, Calif. and tied for 39th overall with a final-round 71 to move up 22 spots in the standings.
