Tyler Docking watched the flight of his ball during the first round of the Kansas Invitational Golf Tournament Monday.

 Walt Koelbel pitched his third shot to the par 5 eigth hole.

 Pete Krsnich chipped from the fringe on the sixth hole at Alvamar.
Barrett Martens lofted a shot to the pin.

 Joey Mundy began the downswing of his tee shot on the par 3 seventh hole.

 Zach Pederson wrapped a shot around a small tree. Pederson fired a 71 in the opening round.
Ryan Rainer carded a 70 in the first round.

 Barrett Martens tracked his shot.

 Luke Trammell hit his second shot at the par 4 sixth hole.
KU's top scorer in the first round was Gary Woodland with a 69.
