KU's Gary Woodland Named to Ben Hogan Award Watch List
Nov. 7, 2006 LAWRENCE, KAN. - Complete List of Players Named to the Ben Hogan Award Watch List University of Kansas senior Gary Woodland was among 22 collegiate golfers named to the Ben Hogan Watch List. The Ben Hogan Award, is the most presitigous award in men's golf given annually to the top collegiate golfer from any classification. Woodland captured the Kansas Invitational and amassed five top-10 finishes during the fall season. Woodland, who is currently ranked No. 15 in the country collegiately by GolfWeek, won the 2005 Kansas Amateur Championship and has competed in the Western Amateur and Palmer Cup. The Topeka, Kan., native has recorded two victories and 15 top-10 finishes in his Jayhawk career. The Hogan Committee will announce 10 semi-finalists on April 4 and name three finalists on May 2. The winner will be announced on May 22 at the Hogan Award Ceremony at Colonial Country Club.
