KANSAS STARTERS (CAREER/SEASON): Angel Goodrich (88-12), Tania Jackson (22-10), Monica Engelman (80-12), Carolyn Davis (82-12) and Natalie Knight (46-12).
Moved the Jayhawks' record to 10-2 overall, 1-0 in the Big 12.
Increased head coach Bonnie Henrickson's KU record to 148-123 (9th season) and her career to 306-185 (16th season).
Brought the Jayhawks' all-time record to 745-521.
Maintained its perfect record this season at home, 9-0, and secured a 396-210 all-time record playing on James Naismith Court at Allen Fieldhouse.
Improved the Jayhawks to 43-62 against the Wildcats in the series. It also secured the Jayhawks first win against the Wildcats since Feb. 7, 2010 when they played at home and won, 70-60.
Kansas held a 12 point lead, its largest of the game, with 4:40 to play in the first half, but lost it when Kansas State went on an 11-0 run to close out the half. This run began at the 1:52 mark and closed the half, giving the Wildcats the lead, 36-34. This lead was the second, and last, the Wildcats took in the game with each being by two points.
The Jayhawks scored 22 of their 34 first-half points in the paint and went three-for-six (50 percent) behind the three-point line in the first half.
Four of Kansas' starters finished the game scoring double digits, while five in total finished with more than ten points. This marks the first time this season five Jayhawks have scored in double figures and the sixth time four Jayhawks have posted at least ten points.
Kansas achieved its highest three-point percentage of the year, shooting 54.5 percent (6-of-11), beating its previous high of 41.7 percent versus Southeastern Missouri State (11/14/12).
Senior forward Carolyn Davis added 14 points for the Jayhawks and scored Kansas' first point of the game for the sixth time this season. She also tied her career high with two assists.
Senior guard Monica Engelman scored her 1,000th career point six minutes into the game and finished with 10 points. She broke her career-high shooting, going two-for-three from beyond the three-point line and came up one basket short of her season high (12).
Senior Angel Goodrich led her team, for the 11th time this season, with eight assists to earn 605 career assists. This is the sixth game this season Goodrich has had eight or more assists. The guard led the Jayhawks with 17 points.
Junior guard CeCe Harper broke her three-point season record with two baskets from beyond the arc and tied her career high with ten points.
Sophomore Natalie Knight led her team with 16 points, notching her season high. This is the first time this season Knight has scored double figures in back-to-back games.
