Notes Kansas' loss, coupled with Iowa State's win over Colorado, ensures that the Jayhawks will be the No. 10 seed in next week's Big 12 Tournament. With her eight field goals made on Thursday, senior Crystal Kemp moved into sixth place on Kansas' all time list, passing former Jayhawks great Tamecka Dixon. She now has connected on 636 shots in her career. Kemp's 19 points marked on Thursday marked her 28th straight game to score in double digits. After KU pulled to within 10 at 48-38 at the 7:47 mark of the second half, Kansas State went on a 14-2 run to put the game out of reach. Thursday's game snapped Kansas' streak of 63 consecutive games with at least one 3-pointer made. KU's 33.3 percent shooting from the field tied its season low, which was set in the Jayhawks' loss to Baylor. The loss also marked the first time since the Baylor loss that only one KU player (Kemp) tallied double-digit points. Kansas' three steals tied a season low. KU's 10 team fouls set a season low. KSU's 25 total rebounds ties a KU-opponent season low. Thursday marked the first time this season that senior Kaylee Brown was held scoreless. |
