    KU'S WIN:

  • Gives the Jayhawks a 3-0 record for the season.
  • Improves head coach Bonnie Henrickson's record at KU (ninth season) to 141-121 and career record to 299-183 (16th season).
  • Gives the Jayhawks their third win against the Demon Deacons in their history, improving their record to 3-0 all time vs. Wake Forest.
  • Gives Kansas a 3-0 start for the sixth-consecutive season.
  • Improves the Jayhawks' all-time record to 738-519.
  • Improves KU's all-time non-conference record to 318-147.

    GAME NOTES:

  • Kansas opened the game with a 12-3 run over the first 6:40 of the contest.
  • The Jayhawks held Wake Forest under 10 points until the 7:37 mark in the first half.
  • Wake Forest, trailing 20-9, went on a 18-0 run until the final 38 seconds of the first half, giving the Demon Deacons their first lead of the game, 27-20. Six different players contributed buckets throughout the run.
  • Kansas went without a field goal for the final 8:09 of the first half, while the
  • KU bench went the entire first half without a field goal.
  • There were four lead changes and four ties in the first 5:35 of the second half.
  • Throughout entire second half neither team led by more than six points.
  • Kansas shot 1-13 from three, while Wake Forest finished shooting 2-13 from long range.

    INDIVIDUAL NOTES:

  • Senior guard Monica Engelman had a game high four assists.
  • Senior forward Carolyn Davis finished with a game-high 22 points and shot 9-for-13 from the field; she was one rebound short of a double-double. Davis eventually fouled out in the final minute of play.
  • Senior guard Angel Goodrich finished the game with 13 points. She was the only player to be in the game to play all 40 minutes.
  • Redshirt junior Tania Jackson finished the game with 11 points, including a 5-for-6 effort at the free throw line, and nine rebounds.
