Sutherland Invited to Atlanta Dream Training Camp
April 25, 2012
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s basketball senior Aishah Sutherland has been invited to join the Atlanta Dream of the WNBA for a training camp on Sunday, April 29.
Sutherland, a 6-foot-2 forward, concluded her four-year career at KU as the school’s second all-time shot blocker and third-best rebounder, while also becoming just the 15th Jayhawk in program history to amass at least 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in a career. The Perris, Calif., native averaged 13.9 points and 8.9 rebounds per game in 2011-12 during her final season and helped Kansas advance to its first NCAA Tournament since 2000 and first Sweet 16 appearance in 14 years. Sutherland was one of four Big 12 Conference players to rank in the top 10 of the league in scoring and rebounding on her way to earning All-Big 12 Honorable Mention accolades.
