LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Kansas women's basketball team continued to receive national attention heading into the start of the 2012-13 regular season, as ESPN.com released its preseason top-25 poll Monday and the Jayhawks were awarded the No. 23 position. ESPN.com's Mechelle Voepel, Graham Hays, Charlie Creme and Michelle Smith each collaborated on the poll, which had defending national champion and Big 12 Conference foe Baylor at the top of the list. The Jayhawks enter the season ranked No. 25 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, and are at the top of the receiving votes list on the Associated Press Top-25 Poll. KU returns four starters from a squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 last season. Kansas officially begins the 2012-13 campaign Sunday, when the Jayhawks host Idaho State, an NCAA Tournament participant last season.
