Early morning rain showers couldn't stop nearly 250 fans and supporters of the Kansas women's basketball team from participating in the eighth annual Bonnie Henrickson Golf Tournament at Alvamar Country Club Saturday afternoon. "This kicks off the year (for us) with school starting this week and gives us an opportunity for our staff and players to meet everyone and to thank them for their support," said Henrickson. The four-person scramble teed off at 1 p.m., and a dinner, along with live and silent auctions, will follow the day of golf. Along with Coach Henrickson, the entire coaching staff, support staff and roster of the 2012-13 Jayhawk team were on hand to interact with the participants. All the proceeds from the tournament will help support the Kansas women's basketball program and the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Breast Center.
