Women's Golf Finishes Ninth At Mountain View Collegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Kansas women's golf team finished in ninth place, in a 15-team field, at the seventh annual Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz. The Jayhawks shot a 296 third round score for a three-round total of 892. The Jayhawks shot each round under 300 for the first time all year. "I saw a lot of improvement in this tournament," head coach Erin O'Neil said. "It was a good confidence booster for us and hopefully we can use this as a building block for the rest of the season." Northwestern held on to first place with an 870, followed by Idaho which shot an 880. Freshman Annie Giangrosso led the Jayhawks with a 220 to finish in a tie for 15th. Sophomore Amanda Costner shot a three round total of 222 to place in a tie for 23rd. Junior Chelsey Pryor tied for 32nd after totaling a 224. Junior Tiffany Woods carded a three round total of 233 to tie for 60th. Sophomore Jill Womble shot a 235 total that put her in a tie for 64th. Kansas will next be in action on April 9-10 as they participate in the Lady Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. Team Results Place School Score
