Costner Wins The Lady Boilermaker Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The University of Kansas women's golf team finished in sixth place, in a 13-team field, after carding a 305 in the final round of the Lady Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. The Jayhawks finished with a combined score of 912. Sophomore Amanda Costner took home her first tournament title after firing a 73 in the final round to finish with a one over 217. "I am so proud of Amanda," head coach Erin O'Neil said. "This was a goal that she set for herself and she achieved it. I am also proud of our team as a whole. We fought hard this tournament." Michigan and TCU tied for the tournament title after each team recorded an 898. Junior Chelsey Pryor finished in a tie for 21st with a 230. Sophomore Jill Womble totaled a 235 to place in a tie for 38th. Junior Tiffany Woods carded a 239 to finish in a tie for 48th. Freshman Annie Giangrosso finished in 57th with a 241. Junior Meredith Winkelmann tied for 60th after a three round score of 242. The Jayhawks will next be an action at the Big 12 Championship in Austin, Texas on April 22-24.
