KU Finishes Ninth At Big 12 Championships

AUSTIN, Texas - The University of Kansas women's golf team finished in ninth place, in a 12-team field, after carding a 310, its best round of the tournament, in the final round of the Big 12 Championships held at the University of Texas G.C. in Austin, Texas. The `Hawks finished with a three day total of 952. Oklahoma State held on to the three day lead and finished with a score of 900 to win the team title. Texas finished second with a 901. Junior Chelsey Pryor led the way for the Jayhawks with a 235 to tie for 26th. Sophomore Amanda Costner finished strong and ended up tied for 33rd with a 238. Junior Meredith Winkelmann finished the tournament tied for 46th with a 244. Freshman Annie Giangrosso carded a 249 to place in 54th. Sophomore Jill Womble shot a three day score of 250 to place in 55th. Kansas has now wrapped up regular season action and will await word on whether or not it has qualified for regionals.
