Kansas Women's Golf in 12th After Two Rounds at Clover Cup

March 6, 2013 MESA, Ariz. – Kansas freshman Yupaporn Kawinpakorn shot a pair of 75s for a six-over 150 and tied for 27th after day one of the Second Annual Clover Cup Tournament at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz., Saturday. The three-round event had an adjusted schedule due to rain on Friday and the 16-team, 96-competitor field played 36 holes Saturday on the par-72 course, which plays at 6,209 yards. After shooting a 312 (+24) in the opening round, the Jayhawks shaved off 11 strokes, firing a 301 (+13) in the afternoon and sat in 12th place with a 613 (+37) heading into Sunday’s final 18 holes. KU was three shots behind Michigan and Mississippi at 610 (+34). Oklahoma leads the field with a 6-under 281-289—570 with SMU second at 299-284—583 (+7). Kansas junior Meghan Potee shot a 1-under 71 in her second round and finished the day tied for 35th with a 152 (+8). Potee cut 10 strokes from the first 18 to the second after shooting an 81 in her morning round. One shot behind Potee is KU junior Thanuttra Boonraksasat who carded a 77-76—153 (+9) and was tied for 40th. Sophomore Minami Levonowich had a pair of 79s in each of her first two rounds and her 158 (+14) had her tied for 69th, while sophomore Gabby DiMarco was tied for 84th at +19 (82-81—163). Jayhawk senior Audrey Yowell is playing as an individual and is tied for 56th at 11-over after shooting 76-80—156.
