Costner, Pryor Named NGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Kansas women's golfers Amanda Costner and Chelsey Pryor were named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Division I All-American Scholar Team on Monday. The NGCA announced 371 recipients throughout Divisions I, II and III with Costner and Pryor among the 25 Big 12 scholars. The criteria for selection included a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year. First-time honoree Costner, a junior last year from Claremore, Okla., is an applied behaviorial sciences major. She finished first on the team with a stroke average of 75.45 last year. Costner competed in all 11 events with five top-10 finishes. This marks the third time Pryor, a Washington, Pa., native who recently ended her senior season as a communications major, has been awarded this honor. She was named to the team in 2004 and 2005. Pryor participated in all 11 events for the Jayhawks her senior year and recorded a stroke average of 76.33 with four top-10 finishes. -- KU --
