Kris Baty

Hired as an assistant coach in August of 2008, Kris (Lazar) Baty is a former Kansas rower. Baty began her rowing career as a member of the First Novice Eight crew in 2003. As a rower at Kansas, Baty quickly improved and became of member of the Second Varsity Eight crew by her second season. As a senior in 2005, Baty was a part of the Varsity Eight crew that defeated SMU, Tulsa, Drake, and Kansas State at the Kansas Cup and finished second at the Big 12 Invitational. Baty was also a member of the Varsity Four crew that placed first at the Knecht Cup. A native of Mulvane, Kansas and a graduate of Mulvane High School, Baty was a member of the basketball, volleyball, track, and softball teams. Baty graduated from the University of Kansas in 2006 with a degree in strategic communications. Before joining the Kansas rowing staff in 2008, she was a sales and advertising representative for the Dallas Business Journal. Baty resides in Eudora with her husband, Matt, a former Kansas baseball player. |
