No. 15 Texas Rowing sweeps Kansas

AUSTIN, Texas - The Kansas rowing team completed its spring training with a dual against No. 15 Texas on Saturday, March 26, 2005. The race began at 9:00 a.m. and saw the Jayhawks participate in four races, which included two Novice Eight races and two Varsity Eight races. Kansas was unable to come away with a win in any race but gained valuable experience for the upcoming spring season. In the First Varsity Eight race Texas came in with a first place time of 6:34.5, followed by Kansas with a time of 6:44.5. In the Second Varsity Eight race Kansas came in second with a time of 7:08.6, which was a close finish to Texas' time of 6:52.2. In the Novice Races, Kansas again earned two second place finishes. In the First Novice race Kansas notched a time of 7:07.9. Texas, again, took the top spot with 6:57.5. In the Second Novice race Texas took the top spot with a time of 7:11.3 and Kansas took the second place spot with a time of 7:44.5 The Jayhawks will return to Lawrence after completing spring training and will next see action against Tulsa and Drake in Lawrence on April 2, 2005. -Complete Results- First Novice Eight Second Novice Eight First Varsity Eights Second Varsity Eights
