No. 20 Minnesota Races Past Kansas

St. Paul, Minn.—Kansas rowing fell to 20th ranked Minnesota on Saturday, April 25 in St. Paul, Minn. The Jayhawks did pick up one victory on the day as the fifth Varstiy Four boat won the first race of the day with a time of 7:49.0 just ahead of second place Minnesota which finished at 7:50.4.
In the First Varsity Four Minnesota finished well ahead of Kansas crossing the finish line in 7:10.2. The Jayhawks were 17.5 seconds behind with a final time of 7:27.7.
In the final race of the day, the First Varsity Eight, Minnesota bested Kansas by 16.7 seconds with a time of 6:20.2. The Jayhawks crossed the finished line at 6:36.9.
Kansas hosts the first ever Big 12 Conference Championship next Saturday, May 2, at Wyandotte County Lake in Kansas City, Kan. Kansas will compete alongside Kansas State, Oklahoma and Texas.
