Rowing Completes Weekend at South/Central Regionals

OAK RIDGE, Tenn.--The University of Kansas rowing team placed 18th overall at the NCAA South/Central Regionals in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The Jayhawks finished 10th in the Central Region standings and earned 67 points throughout the weekend's events. In the 1st Varsity 4 "C" Finals, Kansas took third with a time of 8:05.16. The University of Miami finished first with 7:59.30. By placing third, the Jayhawks earned nine points. In the Jayhawks' second race, the team earned 12 points by placing sixth in the 2nd Varsity 8 "C" Finals with a time of 7:11.87. Louisville took first place with 7:02.50. The Jayhawks finished fifth in the 1st Varsity 8 "C" Finals, earning 45 points. Duke finished on top with 6:48.30 In the Open 4 "B" Finals, the Jayhawks finished sixth, earning one point, with a time of 8:33.86. Host-school Tennessee placed first with a time of 7:59.00.
