Kansas Rowing Places 18th at Regionals

The First Varsity Eight boat placed third in the `D' final. KU defeated The Second Varsity Eight boat placed 16th overall. KU placed fourth in the `C' final with a time of 7:14.24. Like the First Varsity Eight boat, the Second Varsity Eight boat will return six members next year, along with coxswain Lexie Peterson.
The Jayhawk Open Four boat placed fifth in the `C' final. The Varsity Four boat had a strong 14th place finish overall. The boat finished the KU's Novice Eight boat placed 11th and earned KU 6 points. KU crossed the finish line in 7:26.60. KU placed 18th overall at the South-Central Regionals with 79 points, but earned a 10th place finish in the Central region. "Our Novice Eight and Second Eight had solid finishes," said head coach Rob Catloth. "Our 1-V struggled, but hopefully that will serve as motivation over the summer. We return all but four rowers from our varsity and we have had a really strong novice group, so we have high hopes for next year." Check back later in the week for a recap on the 2008 rowing season.
