Kansas Rowing Spring Season Opener at Oklahoma Cancelled
March 28, 2009
LAWRENCE, Kan.—After being moved back one day, Kansas’ spring season opener has been cancelled due to weather conditions between Wichita, Kan., and Oklahoma City. The regatta, originally scheduled for Saturday, was moved to Sunday due to the possibility of rain, snow and high winds in Oklahoma City. Kansas was supposed to face Oklahoma and SMU. The regatta will not be rescheduled. This is second time in the 2008-09 season that the Jayhawks have had a regatta cancelled. Kansas’ last regatta of the fall, the Sunflower Showdown with Kansas State, was cancelled due to high winds in Manhattan, Kan. The Jayhawks will now open the spring season next Saturday, April 4, 2008 against Texas.
