Kansas Fares Well in First Day at the SIRA's

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - Kansas rowing had a successful first day in Oak Ridge, Tenn., for the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Regatta on Saturday. Kansas is competing in five events over the Melton Hill Lake, and all but the Second Novice Eight boat will be participating in the Grand Finals on Sunday. The First Novice Eight and the Varsity Four won their heats. The Second Varsity Eight boat finished second in its heat and will also compete in the Grand Finals. The First Varsity Eight finished third in its heat, but had one of the fastest times that has been recorded this year by a Kansas boat. Saturday's results will be posted when made available, and also please check back with kuathletics.com for the Finals results on Sunday. Results will also be posted on www.regattacentral.com.
