Kansas Rowers Win Three Medals in Day One of Head of the Hooch
Nov. 4, 2006 CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Kansas Rowing team had a successful first day in The Jayhawks entered seven boats in the Championship Double race and came away with the overall top spot. In the Championship Double, KU received two medals for a first and third place finish. The lone Kansas Championship Four boat fared well as it picked up the silver medal for a second place finish. "We rowed very well today considering the tough practice conditions that we've had to overcome lately," said head coach Rob Catloth. "There have been repairs to the river dam near our practice facility which has limited our practice. To improve on last year's performance shows the ability of our team this year."
