High Winds Cancel Sunflower Showdown
Nov. 7, 2008
MANHATTAN, Kan. -- For the first time this season weather has cancelled a regatta for the Kansas rowing team. High winds in Manhattan caused the cancellation of tomorrow’s Sunflower Showdown between Kansas and Kansas State.
The Jayhawks also had one regatta cancelled last fall. The Head of the Iowa was cancelled due to high water.
Cancellation of the Showdown marks the end of the fall season for Kansas. The Jayhawks have a short break before the start of winter training on January 6.
