Kansas Soccer Finalizes 2009 Fall Schedule

LAWRENCE, Kan. -
Kansas head soccer coach Mark Francis announced Wednesday that the team has finalized its 2009 schedule.
The Jayhawks will play nine contests at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex next season, including the Kansas Invitational against San Diego and South Dakota State in September, as well as the regular season finale versus Border Showdown rival Missouri on Oct. 30.
Kansas will play host to Big 12 foes Texas Tech, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa State and Missouri as well as non-conference opponents Long Beach State, Rhode Island, San Diego and South Dakota State.
The Jayhawks travel to Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma and Baylor as well as face Pepperdine, Arizona State, Denver, Colorado College and Oral Roberts away from Lawrence. KU’s match with the Pioneers in Colorado Springs is a rematch of the their First Round NCAA Tournament contest last year.
KU is expected to return 21 letterwinners and nine position starters from last year’s squad, which finished 13-8-2 and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
