 The penalty kick from Caroline Smith crossed the goal out of reach of the UC-Irvine goalie.
Jenny Murtaugh blocked a shot after KU formed a defensive wall.

 KU players began the celebraton of Emily Strinden's goal as the ball settled into the net.
