SAN ANTONIO, Texas -

Seven different Jayhawks garnered mention on the Academic All-Big 12 Soccer Teams, which were released Tuesday by the conference office.

Seniors Nicole Cauzillo and Emily Strinden were selected academic all-conference for the third time in their careers, while senior Colleen Quinn, juniors Missy Geha and Kristin Graves and sophomore Shannon McCabe rounded out KU's First Team selections while junior Sara Rogers earned Second Team honors.

Cauzillo, who was named Academic All-District 7 a week ago, earned her third straight selection to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team. She led the Jayhawks with five goals and three assists during the regular season. Strinden, who was named to the second team a season ago, earned her third overall selection to the academic all-conference squad.

The six first team selections matches the number KU placed on the academic team last season. First Team members needed to achieve a cumulative grade point average above 3.2 and participate in at least 60 percent of the team's contests to be eligible. Second Team selections were nominated if their gpa was above a 3.0 and had met the participation requirement.

Kansas (7-9-4, 5-2-3 Big 12) will play Oklahoma State in the first round of the Big 12 Soccer Championship Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Blossom Soccer Stadium in San Antonio.
