Originally founded as the Outland Club in 1949 by Dick, Skipper and Odd Williams, the Williams Education Fund (WEF) is the official fundraising department for Kansas Athletics.
Nearly 40 student-athletes use Sunday afternoon to help feed those in need
(2011) Junior Season at Eastern Kentucky Played in 10 games and started twice... Had four hits in 12 at bats (.333)... Drove in six runs and scored twice... Went 2-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs while starting at first base at Murray State.
(2010) Sophomore Season at Eastern Kentucky Started and played in 43 of the team's 49 games... Started 28 games at second base and 15 at third base... Hit .170 with nine runs scored, two home runs and 10 RBIs... Was hit by a pitch 11 times, second most in the Ohio Valley Conference... Was 2-for-3, with two runs scored, in her first collegiate game against Liberty University (Feb. 19)... Went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored against Morehead State (March 30)... Hit her first collegiate home run against Eastern Illinois as she went 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs (April 10)... Went 1-for-2 with a home run, one run scored and two RBIs against Jacksonville State (April 17)... 2009-10 Colonel Scholar.
High School Lettered three years at Shawnee Mission West HS for coach Debra Giudicessi... Helped the Vikings reach the State Quarterfinals in 2007... Finished her senior year with a .372 batting average and a .487 on-base percentage... Was a two-time co-captain for the Vikings... In 2008 and 2009, Bruce was named second team All-Sunflower League catcher and second team All-Sun Country catcher... Bruce was a four-year scholar athlete and member of National Honor Society... Also lettered in basketball.
Club Played for coach Greg Heinrich and the DeSoto Belles for five years (2002-07), before joining the KC Zephyrs Gold (2007-09) to play for coach Rob Wade... Named 2008 NAFA 18A Nationals game MVP... Honored as the 2007 16A World Series MVP.
Personal Born Nicolette Paige Bruce in Merriam, Kan... Daughter of John and Rhonda Bruce... Has one sister, Courtney... Mother, Rhonda, graduated KU in 1996 with a M.S. degree in engineering management... Father, John, ran track at Northeast Missouri State... Aunt, Connie, participated in softball and basketball at Culver Stockton College... Plans to major in history.
