KU NCAA Softball vs. Georgia Tech

Jackie Vasquez leaped to high five coach Tracy Bunge during KU's introductions at the NCAA Softball Tournament Friday night.

KU and Georgia Tech stood at attention during the singing of the National Anthem at the Georgia's softball stadium.

Catcher Elle Pottorf gunned down the first two Georgia Tech runners trying to steal.

Shortstop Destiny Frankenstein tagged out Tech's Caitlin Lever on a steal attempt.

Serena Settlemier threw 8.1 strong innings for KU.

First baseman Nicole Washburn made the unassisted tag on a Tech runner.

Heather Stanley collected two of KU's four hits.

Serena Settlemier headed for home after homering in the bottom of the seventh with two outs to send the game into extra innings.

Coach Tracy Bunge congratulated Settlemier as she rounded third.

A fired-up Settlemier leaped for home plate after her homerun.

Coach Bunge and assistants Christi Musser and Jen Sewell focused on the Jayhawks defense.

Sewell discussed stategy with Nettie Fierros and Ashley Frazer as KU threatened in the bottom of the eigth.

The KU bench did their best to try and help the Jayhawks win the game in the eigth.

Christina Ross came in to relieve Settlemier in the ninth.

Tech's final run came in the ninth as catcher Pottorf did her best to block the plate.
