The Kansas softball team earned its fifth win of the season in dominant fashion as they topped UTSA 12-0 in five innings due to the run-rule. Head Coach Jennifer McFalls earned her 100th career win as a Jayhawk.
No. 9 Kansas (20-6, 8-5 Big 12) returns home to host Texas (17-9, 6-7 Big 12) on Saturday, Feb. 24. Tip from Allen Fieldhouse is set for 5 p.m. CT and the game will be televised on ESPN.
Kansas Baseball will play in an early season tournament this weekend as the Jayhawks take on Texas State (Friday), Washington State (Saturday) and Kentucky (Sunday) in the Karbach Round Rock Classic at Dell Diamond here. S’Mya Nichols matched her career high with 23 points on Wednesday night, but the Kansas Jayhawks had its five-game win streak snapped after suffering a 69-61 defeat to No. 24 Baylor at Foster Pavilion.
Kansas senior Cecil Belisle claimed his second individual title of the season after firing a final-round 67 on Wednesday to win The Prestige at Greg Norman Course at PGA West. As a team, Kansas also had a strong tournament, finishing second at the event at -21, beating out 11 top-50 ranked teams for its best finish of the season.
The Kansas Jayhawks head to College Station, Texas to compete in the Texas A&M Invitational at Davis Diamond from Feb. 22-25. KU will face off against UTSA (twice), North Dakota State (twice) and No. 18 Texas A&M for Kansas’ third-straight week on the road.
