2005-06 (Junior): Competed in the 200 and 400 medley relays... Finished sixth in the 100 back (55.58), ninth in the 200 back (2:00.85) and 16th in the 50 (23.91) at the Big 12 Championships, with each time setting a season best.
2004-05 (Sophomore): Qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100 and the 200 back... Finished fifth in the 100 back at the Big 12 Championships with a time of 55.39, placed seventh in the 200 back (2:00.67) and 12th in the 50 free (24.00)... Set season best times in the 100 and 200 back at the Big 12 Championships... Competed most of the season on the 200 and 400 medley relays... Was a member of the 200 medley relay team that broke the school record with a time of 1:42.02... Named an Academic All-American.
2003-04 (Freshman): Finished 14th in the 100 and 11th in the 200 backstroke events at the Big 12 Championships... Set season best times in both races with a time of 57.34 in the 100 and 2:03.87 in the 200... Finished as high as third in the 100 backstroke in a dual against Missouri State and third in the 200 backstroke in duals against Houston and Texas A&M... Was also a member of the 150 backstroke relay team.
High School (Olathe North): Broke the school record in the 50 free and 100 back... An All-League swim team selection from 2000-03... All-state in 2002-03... Was a member of the varsity swimming team for four years and the varsity volleyball team for three years... Selected to the all-league volleyball team in 2002.
Personal: Born November 2, 1984, in Denver, Colo.... Parents are Ryan and Susan Short... Journalism and sociology major with a minor in leadership studies.
