Cash Leads Divers on Day One of Bruin Invitational
Jan. 11, 2013 LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Kansas senior Christy Cash finished with a score of 243.70 in the three-meter event to lead the Jayhawk divers on the first day of the Bruin Diving Invitational at UCLA's Spieker Aquatics Center Friday afternoon. Cash's score placed her 20th in the event, narrowly missing the finals. Freshman Meredith Brownell finished 35th with a score of 213.10, while fellow newcomer Madeline Martin scored 205.95 to finish 38th. Junior Alyssa Golden placed 50th with a score of 175.50 to round out the Jayhawk performances. Divers from 17 different schools in various conferences competed in the event. The Jayhawk divers will be back in action tomorrow as they compete in the one-meter event, with preliminaries beginning at 1 p.m. and the top-18 qualifying for the final round.
