WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Senior Amy Gruber and sophomore Jenny Short competed at the final day of the 2005 NCAA Swimming Championships in West Lafayette, Ind. Gruber finished 22nd in the 100 freestyle with a time of 49.74. Short finished 45th in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:02.34.

"Amy's finish in the 100 freestyle was a good way for her to end her collegiate career here at Kansas," head coach Clark Campbell said. "Jenny swam a solid race and learned a lot at the NCAAs. She will use this experience in the future seasons."

Saturday's events wrapped up the 2005 NCAA Championships and the Jayhawks' 2004-05 season. In her final collegiate meet, Gruber placed 18th in the 100 butterfly, 22nd in the 100 freestyle, and 30th in the 50 freestyle. Short finished 36th in the 100 backstroke and 45th in the 200 backstroke in her first career NCAA Championship meet.
