LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kansas swimming and diving was named an Academic All-American team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for the 2008 fall semester. The Jayhawks earned a combined 3.33 grade point average.

Only Nebraska finished with a higher grade point average (3.37) in the Big 12 than Kansas. KU was also named an Academic All-American team for both semesters last year.

Kansas had a total of 22 swimmers and divers earn a 3.00 grade point average or better in the fall, including eight 4.00 grade point average. Included in the list of swimmers with a 4.00 grade point average are seniors Jessica Brozek, Anne Liggett, Hannah McMacken, junior Meghan Proehl and sophomores Amanda Maez, Alyssa Potter and Brittany Potter.

Eighteen swimmers are eligible for Academic All-Big 12 recognition.
