OMAHA, Neb. - Jayhawk fans who can't make the trip to the CenturyLink Center in Omaha next week will still be able to watch a total of five Kansas swimmers compete at the 2012 Olympic Trials. NBC is scheduled to televise the majority of the action, starting with the first event of the qualifying heats on Monday, June 25th and lasting through finals the following Monday, July 2.
Qualifying heats will be shown on a tape delay starting at 5:30 p.m. Central and broadcast on the newly formed NBC Sports Network, while finals from every event can be viewed live on NBC starting at 7 p.m. Preliminaries begin every morning at 10:00 Central, with qualifying heats to take place shortly there afterwards.
As a unit Kansas has five past, current or future members of its program competing at Trials. That includes current swimmers Brooke Brull and Stephanie Payne as well as former student-athlete and current volunteer assistant Danielle Herrmann (2005-09). Two incoming freshman, Chelsie Miller (Houston, Texas) and Haley Molden (Topeka, Kan.), will also be competing in a total of four events.
