Kansas Completes Day One at Clemson Indoor Classic
Jan. 18, 2013 CLEMSON, S.C. - The Kansas women's tennis team completed day one the Clemson Winter Indoor Classic, finishing 3-5 in singles and 2-1 in doubles Friday at the Clemson Indoor Tennis Center. Juniors Dylan Windom and Claire Dreyer, as well as freshman Anastasija Trubica, all recorded singles wins against opponents from Tulane Friday morning. Windom defeated Caroline Magnusson in a third set tiebreaker, 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (13-11), while Dreyer beat Hila Elster, 6-3, 6-4. Trubica defeated Jacqui Katz, 6-3, 6-1. Kansas defeated two of its three opponents from Louisiana State in doubles. Windom and freshman Maria Jose Cardona defeated Kaitlin Burns and Keri Frankenberger, 8-6, while sophomore Maria Belen Ludueña and junior Paulina Los topped Mary Jeremiah and Ariel Morton, 8-3. On Saturday, KU will play two rounds of singles--one in the morning and the other in the afternoon--against Clemson and LSU.
