Jayhawks Fall Short at No. 56 BYU
March 1, 2008
The Jayhawks struggled on Saturday, dropping all three doubles contests to open the match, falling behind 1-0. KU's tandem of senior Elizaveta Avdeeva and junior Edina Horvath fell for only the second time in the dual match season.
Horvath, who has also put together an impressive season in singles play, was topped by BYU's Kristina Doerr, handing the Budapest, Hungary, native just her second loss of the dual season. Several Jayhawks were forced to move up in the singles lineup after freshman Magdalena Tokarczyk, who is 5-2 this season, was scratched from her No. 1 match.
