TALAHASSEE, Fla. -- The University of Kansas tennis team completed day two of the Seminole Invitational on Saturday as two Jayhawks advanced to third-place matches in singles play.

Junior Yuliana Svistun and freshman Maria Martinez were each defeated in the semifinals of their respective singles brackets on Saturday.  However, the two will look to rebound on Sunday as they will both compete in third-place matches.  Svistun, a Ufa, Russia native, will look to improve on her team-best nine wins this fall when she takes the courts on Sunday.

In other singles action, junior Edina Horvath won a consolation match in the Gold singles draw and will play for fifth-place on the final day of the event.

In doubles play, after advancing to the championship match of the Gold draw on Friday, KU's tandem of Svistun and sophomore Kunigunda Dorn came up short in the final, losing to Florida State's Suess and Georgia Tech's Hickey, 8-5.  However, Dorn and Svistun's second-place finish is their best this fall.

Martinez and freshman Mymee Tokuda also fell in the Black bracket's third-place match on Saturday.
