Kansas Tennis to Host Jayhawk Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kan. - For the first time in Coach Amy Hall-Holt's five-year tenure at Kansas, the women's tennis team will host the Jayhawk Invitational at First Serve Tennis Center in Lawrence Sept. 26-28. Match action begins at 9 a.m. each day. The event is the second of four fall tournaments for Kansas, which opened the season at the New Mexico Invitational last weekend. The team compiled a 9-16 singles record and 3-6 doubles record. Senior Yuliana Svistun and freshman Ekaterina Morosova combined for a 2-1 doubles record while Svistun was 1-3 and Morosova went 2-2 in singles play. Eight of the nine Jayhawks on the roster will compete in the Jayhawk Invite in both singles and doubles competition. Seven other teams will participate in this weekend's tournament. Air Force, UMKC, Wichita State and Arkansas State will all attend, as well as Big 12 opponents Iowa State, Nebraska and Kansas State.
