Nov. 12, 2009
LAWRENCE, Kan. - -
Kansas women’s tennis coach Amy Hall-Holt announced the signing of Dylan Windom for the 2010-2011 season Thursday. Windom, a Tifton, Ga. native, is a four-star recruit according to tennisrecruiting.net out of Smith Stearns Academy.
“We are thrilled that we got such a phenomenal player out of the southern section of Georgia,” said Hall-Holt, who is in her seventh year at KU. “She’s going to add so much to the team with her ability and character. She’s going to fit in extremely well once she gets on campus.”
Windom appears regularly in Bullfrog Southern Designateds, a tournament in southern Georgia, and won three matches at the Claycourt and Hardcourt Nationals.
“My family and I felt that Coach Holt and (Assistant Coach German) Delmagro presented the best 1-2 coaching combination,” said Windom. “The balance Coach Holt presented was unlike any balance at any other school. I was looking for a team that would be an extended family. That is KU tennis.”
