Buhr Elevated to Interim Assistant Coach
Feb. 24, 2011
LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kevin Buhr, volunteer assistant volleyball coach at the University of Kansas, has been promoted to interim assistant coach, head coach Ray Bechard announced Thursday. Buhr, who has served at Kansas for three seasons, replaces former assistant coach Christi Posey, who has accepted the head volleyball coach position at UMKC. Buhr will serve in his new capacity for the Jayhawks until a new full-time assistant is hired. “Kevin is a valuable member of our staff who cares deeply about the success of our program,” said Bechard. “Though his new position is temporary, it will allow him to add value to our program and to gain valuable experience.” Buhr came to Lawrence after serving as the head coach for the Lightning Volleyball Club in Eagle, Colo. While at the head of the Lightning's program. Before moving to Colorado, Buhr worked as an assistant coach for the women's volleyball team at Division III Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss., for the 2005 season and also served as a volunteer assistant for his alma mater Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo., from 2000-03.
