Volleyball Adds Coaches Clinic to Camp Schedule
March 7, 2013 LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kansas volleyball added a coaches clinic to its upcoming camp schedule. Hosted by Big 12 Coach of the Year Ray Bechard and his coaching staff, the two-day coaching training session is set for April 26-27. This clinic will give its participants an in-depth look at the training techniques used by the KU Volleyball program. The 2012 team will be on hand to demonstrate, which includes sessions on setter training, pass and serve, developing the attack, drills to create pressure, our favorite 6 on 6 drills along with a full practice. Sessions on strength and nutrition along with master team-builder Bill Cordes will also be part of the clinic program. Clinic participants will have unlimited access to all presenters. All participants will also receive a comprehensive clinic notebook, clinic t-shirt, two meals and a clinic social on Friday night. The coaches clinic kicks off a busy summer for Jayhawk volleyball camps as KU will host position clinics for hitters (June 1) and another focused on defensive specialists, liberos and setters (June 2). The Jayhawks will also host two sessions of overnight skills camps, the first on June 3-5 and the second from July 19-21. Team camps will also be offered twice on July 8-10 and July 11-13. "We really enjoy these camps," Bechard said. "They provide a great way for our staff and our players to connect with the community and with volleyball players in our area. We can welcome them to our campus, spend time with them and hopefully improve each individual's skillset, as well as, promote the strength of the game locally." 2013 Coaches Clinic Dates
