Former coach for the University of Kansas volleyball team Jack Isgur passed away Friday, April 15. Isgur served as the Jayhawks’ head coach for the 1975 season when his team went 32-19-2.

Born in Sedalia, Mo., Isgur resided in Kansas City and was an accomplished lawyer. After coaching at KU, he continued to coach women's volleyball for many years and was a great supporter of the arts in public schools.

In 1999, Isgur established the Jack J. Isgur Foundation to award college scholarships to those interested in teaching art, literature and humanities in rural Missouri school districts. More than 80 scholarships have been awarded, and Isgur structured the foundation to continue after his passing.

At Isgur’s request, no funeral will be held and his body was donated to University of Missouri School of Medicine. Those wishing to commemorate Jack can contribute to the Jack J.
