LAWRENCE, Kan. - Redshirt sophomore middle blocker Caroline Jarmoc earned the final Big 12 Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honor for the 2011 season, as announced by the league office Monday morning.

Jarmoc averaged 1.62 blocks and 0.75 digs in Kansas' final pair of matches on the season. She set the standard on both sides of the ball on Wednesday night at Kansas State when she churned out 14 kills and just one error to finish with a .481 attack percentage, the highest on the floor. The Alberta, Canada-product also moved up the Jayhawks' all-time leader board after providing the bulk of performance in the blocking column. Her eight block assists led all players and came up just one shy of her career high.

Facing Baylor on Saturday, she racked up 12 kills in the contest. The redshirt sophomore led the way with five blocks, two of them of the solo variety. Jarmoc ended the regular season tied for third all-time on Kansas' single season block assists list (115).

This marks the second Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week award for Jarmoc this season.
