LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas athletics director Dr. Sheahon Zenger and Jayhawk football legend Gale Sayers will headline the evening when the South Kansas Chapter of the KU Alumni Association gathers at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Winfield Country Club.

All Jayhawk alumni, fans and friends are invited to the event.  Fans can pick up 2011 commemorative football items, and have a chance to win autographed merchandise and Jayhawk apparel.  Fans will also be able to participate in a silent auction and dinner.

Other KU notables attending the event with be vice provost Matt Melvin and  former Jayhawk basketball player Greg Gurley, now a director of development in Kansas Athletics’ Williams Education Fund.
