Important changes regarding the new pledge cycle

Why the change?
The new fund drive timeline was developed to simplify the pledge cycle.  In the past, the football season and basketball season within the same school year fell within different pledge years.  Beginning February 2013, the pledge year will include both sports within the same school year. 

This new pledge year will mirror the calendar year with one exception, the month of January.  This allows members to make a payment in the next calendar year if needed.

Are any changes being made to the ticket office calendar?
No. Ticket applications will be mailed and due on the same approximate dates as previous years. 

How do you explain the 2012-13 Basketball Fund Drive?
The 2012-13 Basketball Fund Drive is a mini-drive developed to transition into the new pledge cycle.  Once a minimum pledge is made all benefits, including priority points, are activated.  Pledges can be completed in full or in partial payments up until the final payment deadline.

• Pledge Deadline: July 20, 2012 (Basketball Select-A-Seat)
• Pledge Payment Deadline: February 1, 2013

Is my 2012-13 Basketball Fund Drive gift only going to the basketball program?
No.  All of KU’s 500+ student-athletes will benefit from your generous contribution.  This gift supports your preferred area of support, either unrestricted giving (area of best need) or restricted to scholarships.

I only purchase football season tickets.  What are the benefits of contributing during the 2012-13 Basketball Drive?
Membership will continue to fulfill student-athlete academic and athletic expenses.  In addition, 2013 football special events and football post-season tickets will be based on your 2012-13 Basketball Fund Drive membership level.

So, the 2012-13 Basketball Fund Drive has ended.  What is next?
The 2013 Fund Drive is the start of the new pledge cycle, which will mail on February 1, 2013 and end February 1, 2014.  This will include all sport seasons within the 2013-14 school year.  Once a minimum pledge is made all benefits, including priority points, are activated.  Pledges can be completed in full or in partial payments up until the final payment deadline.
