One day after being named Big 12 Player and Newcomer of the Week, Kansas senior Melvin Council Jr. has picked up three national weekly honors for his performance against NC State. The senior guard was named national player of the week by NCAA March Madness and the Associated Press. Additionally, Council was one of five Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) for games of the week ending Sunday, Dec. 14.
