LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas men’s basketball annually reaps as much television exposure as any team in the country and the 2016-17 season will be no different.

For the 25th-consecutive season, dating back to 1992-93, every KU game will be televised nationally, including 24 contests on either ESPN or ESPN2. CBS will broadcast two KU games and the CBS Sports Network one. Every ESPN contest, including KU’s six Jayhawk Television Network games, will be available online on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.

Kansas will make four appearances on ESPN’s Big Monday for the 11th-straight season, according to the Big 12 Conference schedule announced Thursday by the league. KU’s first two Big Monday contests will be on the road: at Iowa State on Jan. 16 and at Kansas State on Feb. 6. The Jayhawks’ last two Big Monday battles will be inside historic Allen Fieldhouse: Feb. 13 vs. West Virginia and Feb. 27 vs. Oklahoma.

In the Big 12 era, Kansas and Oklahoma have faced each other on ESPN’s Big Monday 10 times, including last season’s KU 109-106 triple overtime instant-classic victory. The Jayhawks have played Iowa State on Big Monday on eight occasions, Kansas State seven times and West Virginia twice.

CBS will broadcast two KU contests, Jan. 21 versus Texas in Allen Fieldhouse and Feb. 18 at Baylor. Staying in the CBS family, CBS Sports Network will air the KU at UNLV game on Dec. 22.

For the first time in Big 12 history, league play will begin in December. Kansas will play at TCU on Friday, Dec. 30, to start conference competition.

Kansas released its nonconference slate on May 31 which features contests against perennial powers Indiana, Nov. 11 in the Armed Forces Classic in Honolulu; Duke, Nov. 15 in the Champions Classic in New York City and Kentucky in Rupp Arena for the SEC/Big 12 Challenge Jan. 28. KU will also participate in the CBE Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City (Nov. 21-22) and has six other home battles.

For the fourth-straight season Time Warner Cable SportsChannel will air more than 50 Kansas Athletics contests – including two exhibition and four nonconference men’s basketball games – exclusively on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel in Kansas City and across the state of Kansas on the Jayhawk TV Network. ESPN3 will deliver those events nationally outside that territory. In addition to the exhibition contests vs. Washburn (Nov. 1) and Emporia State (Nov. 6), the other Jayhawk TV men’s basketball games include: Nov. 18 vs. Siena and Nov. 25 vs. UNC Asheville, which are both CBE Hall of Fame Classic host games, Nov. 29 vs. Long Beach State and Dec. 6 vs. UMKC.

Kansas returns three starters and eight letterwinners from last season’s 33-5 team which went 15-3 in Big 12 play winning its unprecedented 12th-straight, 16th Big 12 and NCAA-leading 59th overall conference regular-season championships. KU also won the Maui Invitational and Big 12 Championship titles and was the overall No. 1 seed for the NCAA Tournament where it advanced to the Elite Eight. Senior Frank Mason III and junior Devonte’ Graham return in the back court as starters, as does senior forward Landen Lucas.

KU will officially tip off the 2016-17 season with the 32nd annual Late Night in the Phog on Saturday, Oct. 1, in Allen Fieldhouse.
